2022 Festival in the Park Winners

Each year Charlotte Christian visual artists of all ages participate in one of Charlotte's richest art traditions, Festival in the Park. Held annually at Freedom Park, this fun, family-friendly event spotlights the regional arts scene with a wide variety of visual arts and crafts, performance arts, and live music.

Area schools are invited to display student artwork at the festival alongside local artisans and craftsmen, and this year Charlotte Christian submitted roughly 80 works of student art. These two-dimensional pieces represent a wide range of grade level, media, and technique. 

Area artists adjudicate all submissions, and this year the following CCS student-artists were chosen as winners in their respective divisions:

  • Teddy Rickenbaker, 2 - “Flower Still Life”, Tempera - second place

  • Tatum Blanton, 3 - “Jungle Collage”, Mixed Media - third place

  • Hayden Miller, 4 - “Quilt Stamp Design”, Handmade Stamp & Ink - honorable mention

  • Vivian Webster, 6 - “Dessert Reduction Print”, Printmaking - first place

  • Casey Branner, 9 - “Self Portrait”, Graphite Pencil - second place

  • Eden Davis & Libby Norvell, 9 - “Starry Night Study”, Acrylic - honorable mention

  • Graycen Younce, 9 - “Peacock”, Metal Repousse’/Copper - first place

  • Lila Kelly, 9 - “All That Jazz”, Scratchboard - third place

  • Egypt Maxwell Wright, 10 - “Nikes”, Acrylic - second place

  • Sarah Bachmann, 10 - “Reflections”, Photograph - first place

  • Caroline Parrish, 11 - “Faithful”, Scratchboard - honorable mention
