Charlotte Christian School is thrilled to share that a group of hardworking students have received recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Seniors Drew Howard and James Langdon were selected as semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Drew and James are recognized among more than 16,000 semifinalists who have an opportunity to continue in the competition for about 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24 million, which will be offered next spring. They received this designation due to their high scores on the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

Seniors Alex Del Corso, Avery Elliott, Gavin Lawrence, Andrew Martin, Clete Saylor, Jack Slater and John Watson were named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are recognized for exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT used for program entry. They are among the top 34,000 students who entered the 2027 competition and earned this recognition.
