Meet Mrs. Nancy Halvorsen who stepped into a new role this year:

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Instructional Support Coordinator here at Charlotte Christian School.

Education is a journey that looks different for every child. My role is dedicated to ensuring that our JK-12 classrooms are environments where every student—regardless of their starting point—has the tools, strategies and support they need to reach their full potential.

What does an Instructional Support Coordinator do? 

In short, I am a partner to our teachers and an advocate for our students. My work happens primarily "behind the scenes" and directly in the classrooms to enhance the learning experience. 

How I support your child’s growth:

• Data-Informed Growth: I help teachers review student progress data to catch "stuck points" early. Together, we design small-group supports (often called Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions) to bridge gaps before they become hurdles.
• Personalized Student Academic Plan: For students who need specific classroom or testing accommodations, I manage their academic plans. This ensures that every teacher has a clear "roadmap" for your child’s unique needs and that those supports are delivered consistently.
• A Team Approach: I have regular collaboration meetings with our school counselors, administrators, and the Director of Academic Services. This ensures that the "whole child" is supported—academically, socially, and emotionally.

What are you most enjoying about your new role?

I have most enjoyed watching students grow academically. I believe that when teachers are supported and data is used thoughtfully, students flourish. Whether I am observing a classroom to see how a student learns best or building a catalog of specialized intervention strategies, my goal is the same: to foster a culture of growth and confidence for every student.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the Alkire Auditorium on chapel days. I love going to chapel each week and worshiping with the students. The sound of their voices praising the Lord fills my bucket and gives me a sense of renewal. It reminds me of how our school community is being knit together by the word of God.

I am honored to be part of the Charlotte Christian community and look forward to working alongside our families and faculty to make this a successful year for all our learners.
