Congratulations to seven middle and upper school visual art students on earning recognition in the 2019 Mid-Carolina Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Competition. The group earned five Silver Keys and four Honorable Mention awards.
Silver Key winners eighth grade student Lily Golzar's drawing and illustration, Underwater Landscape; eighth grade student Loie Kemmer's drawing and illustration, Dripping Sun; sophomore Kelsey Eshleman's photograph, Lost in the City; and junior Andrew Knotts' artwork Saints de Roses and Newborn will all be on display at the Mint Museum Uptown from Feb. 6-22. The artwork is part of a series displaying all the regional Silver Key winners from this year's awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is administered by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers and is the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for student achievement in the visual arts and creative writing in the United States.
