Congratulations to seven middle and upper school creative writing students on earning recognition in the 2019 Mid-Carolina Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Competition. The group earned two Gold Keys and five Honorable Mention awards. The Gold Key winners will advance to the national judging in New York City, that includes junior Grace Gao's short story, The Receding Figure, and senior Claire Burch's personal essay, Inspiration.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is administered by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers and is the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for student achievement in the visual arts and creative writing in the United States.
