For the third year in a row, Charlotte Christian School students partnered with Together We Feed, to help feed, care and connect with children in Charlotte.  In December, Charlotte Christian held an all-school packing event to assemble 1,300 backpacks with food provided by Together We Feed and the Second Harvest Food Bank, along with books and toys donated by CCS families.  Students also collected more than 275 coats to give to children in Charlotte.  Every student from grades JK-12 wrote an encouraging personal note and packed a backpack to be given to a child in need in Mecklenburg County.

The backpacks were distributed to local elementary schools and given to children at risk of hunger who may not have had enough food in their homes over the Christmas break.

“We are grateful for the Charlotte Christian community and the significant role it's played in impacting children right here in Charlotte," shared Together We Feed Executive Director Chrissy Eubanks.  "Above and beyond the school’s annual event that has helped more than 3,500 children over the past three years, Charlotte Christian families continuously show up to volunteer at our community events, donate to our work and even ask for in-kind donations in lieu of birthday gifts to benefit the children we serve.”

Together We Feed coordinates community resources to meet the basic physical needs of children, such as food and clothing, before working to help strengthen them both socially and emotionally.  For more information on Together We Feed, please visit http://togetherwefeed.org/.
