We approach music not only as a discipline in performing arts, but also as an expression of praise. Our music program focuses heavily on excellence in both process and product. Lower School

Lower School Music

Lower School students experience music through singing, playing instruments, and physical movement. Students in lower school are immersed in the fundamentals of music through song, creative movement, and classroom instruments such as ukulele, recorder, and Orff percussion. Lower School students perform for our community several times throughout the school year.

Band

From beginning classes in fifth grade to our accomplished upper school Jazz Band, the Charlotte Christian School band program offers multiple opportunities for students of all skill levels to explore and advance their artistry on wind and percussion instruments. Performing multiple times a year both on and off campus and participating in regional festivals and honors ensembles, the band program provides students with a broad range of experiences as they cultivate their musical gifts to impact the culture for Christ.

Chorus

Choral education at Charlotte Christian School helps students further their love of singing while developing confidence and musical expression. Building on the strong lower school foundation, students enter middle and upper school choral ensembles ready to pursue excellence in vocal technique, musicality and both solo and performance. Orchestra

Beginning in fifth grade, the orchestra curriculum is devoted to mastery of string technique, music literacy, and musicianship that shapes students into confident, capable young men and women who understand fully how individual members of the body of Christ can work together to achieve something far greater than themselves. Orchestra students routinely perform on campus, in the community, and in honors ensembles across the region impacting the culture for Christ through music.

uKnight Worship

UKnight Worship

A group of self motivated, musically gifted students who have a heart for leading worship, the uKnight worship team cultivates development in a unique blend of faith, musicianship, and leadership. The ensemble consists of vocalists, instrumentalists, and student technicians in grades 9-12 who lead worship in chapels throughout the year. uKnight worship is the place where the art of music and service intersect to glorify God.
