Operation Sandwich

Charlotte Christian is partnering with Roof Above, formerly known as the Urban Ministry Center, this Thanksgiving season in an all-school service project. Operation Sandwich will take place Nov. 16-19 and all JK-12 students will have the opportunity to serve by making sandwiches for our homeless community. Roof Above gives away approximately 800 sandwiches a day at their men's shelter and our goal is to provide more than 5,000 sandwiches by the end of the week. Sandwiches will be delivered daily to Roof Above. Along with this tangible way to help, our students will be learning about the various aspects of homelessness and hunger in their classes that week.

The primary way families can be involved with this project is to donate sandwich ingredients listed below:

  • White/whole wheat bread
  • Cold cuts - turkey, ham, roast beef or bologna
  • Cheese
  • Sandwich bags
  • Gloves

Please click here to sign up to donate items and plan to drop them off during morning carpool on Monday, Nov. 16.

In light of COVID-19, we will take every precaution to provide a sanitary environment for the students to prepare the sandwiches that includes wearing masks and gloves and having proper spacing of the students during the process.

  • Monday, Nov. 16 -  Collection Day
  • Tuesday, Nov. 17 - Collection Day, Grades JK-5 service day
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18 - Grades 6-12 service day
  • Thursday, Nov. 19 - Grades 6-12 service day

We are excited this project is a tangible way for students to be involved in serving others in our community. Thank you in advance for supporting Roof Above and showing the love of Jesus this holiday season.
