CCS Robotics Teams Compete in Local Qualifiers

Six Charlotte Christian robotics teams competed at local qualifiers earning the Elementary Excellence Award, the Judges Award and the Think Award.

Lower School Robotics Teams
The lower school robotics teams competed at the CCS VEX Northwest Cabarrus Titans Blended IQ Qualifier in Concord. All four lower school teams have qualified for the North Carolina Elementary IQ State Championships that will be held on Feb. 26.

  • Team 9635J (Alex Joosté, Chris Jackson, Chris Hoyle, Kenny Reilly) advanced to the teamwork final and was awarded the Elementary Excellence Award that is presented to the team that exemplifies overall excellence in creating a high quality VEX robotics program.  
     
  • Team 9635G (Addie Elliott, Spencer Magee, Collins Whitlock) was awarded the Judges Award for exemplary effort, sportsmanship and perseverance at the event.
     
  • Other team members include: Team 9635F (Mason Ledford, Thomas McPherson, Gabe Darling) and Team 9635H (Morgan McComisky, Jane Carson, Harvey Brock) 

Middle & Upper School Robotics Teams
The middle and upper school robotics teams competed in the North Carolina Northern Qualifier. The upper school team 9635A advanced to the final four. The middle school team 9635B earned the Think Award for effective autonomous programming (coding).

  • Upper School Robotics team members include: Katie Caldwell, Graham Cash, Elizabeth Beltzhoover, Matthew Donochod, Monte Eaves, John Francois, Ethan Gary, Andrew Goad, Sterling Jackson, Bailey McCoy, Ronnie  McCoy, Kendall Moore, Julian Segovia.
     
  • Middle School Robotics members include: Morgan Bank, Elijah Boythe, Drew Howard, Gavin Lawrence, Sam Lister, Beck McNeer, Cade McNeer, Libby Norvell, Asher Pepper.
