ACT 1 Team Earns Honors at 2021 NCTC High School Play Festival

Congratulations to our ACT 1 cast and crew for their performance at the annual regional NCTC one act play festival. The team was awarded the following recognitions for their performance of an original piece called Cyrano Or: The White Plume by Edmond Rostand adapted by Matthew Minnicino:

    •    Theatre Arts Award: Excellence in Production Design
    •    Excellence in Directing
    •    Excellence in Ensemble Acting
    •    Honorable Mention Distinguished Play

This outstanding performance earned the ACT 1 team placement in a lottery to possibly move on to the next phase of competition at the state level.

ACT 1 is Charlotte Christian's upper school audition-only competition drama team and is directed by Ms. Claire Hilton, director of theatre. This year's team members are Thomas Albee, Rachel Baker, Karsen Betzold, Ruthie Caswell, Whitney Johnson and Jeffery Wilson.

The NCTC Play Festival includes eight regional festivals and showcases the talent of more than 3,500 students from more than 100 schools, in nearly 130 productions. At the NCTC Festival, schools from all across the state come together to share their talents and celebrate their collective achievements.
