Process for Grades JK-1
Admissions applications are now being accepted. Click here to begin the application. Applications submitted after Jan. 15, 2021 will be considered on a rolling admissions basis. Please see the application process steps below and you may download a checklist here.
JK and K Placement Guidelines
A child should be 4 years old by Feb. 1 of the year he is applying for Junior Kindergarten. A child should be 5 years old by June 1 of the year he is applying for Kindergarten. A child’s birthday is always viewed in the full context of developmental maturity and will include physical, emotional and social development as well as academic readiness.
Schedule the WPPSI-IV Test (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence - Fourth Edition).
Please download the CAIS (Charlotte Area Independent Schools) booklet for a list of area psychologists who can administer this test. Request that scores be mailed to Charlotte Christian School. On the day of testing the psychologist will ask the parent(s) to sign a validity form indicating the applicant has not been tested (or coached) within the calendar year.
Birth Certificate
A copy of your child's birth certificate should be submitted along with the application file materials.
Teacher Recommendation Grade JK-1 Form
Teacher recommendations should requested and submitted directly through the myCCS platform. Once you begin the application process you will see an item in your checklist to email the recommendation request to your child's teacher.
On-Campus Play Date (developmental screening).
After an application has been received and a CAIS appointment has been scheduled, the admissions office will schedule a 45-minute on-campus.
Family Interview
Once the above items are received, families will meet with the admissions director and/or lower school principal.

Teacher Recommendation and Transcript Release Grades 2-5
For applicants in grades 2–5, Charlotte Christian School requires the submission of a transcript from your child’s current school as well as a current teacher recommendation. A transcript includes report cards, all standardized testing/end of year testing, a copy of your child's birth certificate and any other assessments which may be helpful to the admissions process. The transcript release form should be sent to your current school with a request these official records be sent to Charlotte Christian. Teacher recommendations should requested and submitted directly through the myCCS platform. Once you begin the application process you will see an item in your checklist to email the recommendation request to your child's teacher.
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition

Required for grade 5 applicants. Charlotte Christian School, in conjunction with CAIS (Charlotte Area Independent Schools), uses the ISEE as a component of academic assessment. The exam requires pre-registration which can be done at www.iseetest.org or with ISEE at (800) 989-3721. Please request that scores be sent to Charlotte Christian School.

Family Interview
The admissions committee will review each student's completed application documents prior to the student assessment and family interview. Timely receipt of these materials supports an efficient process for both the student and Charlotte Christian School.
Final decisions are made by the admissions committees and applicants will be notified through myCCS.
