Reading consistently throughout the summer months allows students to:
- learn new vocabulary
- broaden perspectives
- increase their knowledge and maintain reading gains made during the school year
- develop an understanding that scheduling time for reading is an important life skill
Click on the appropriate division below to expand the summer reading assignments and book selections. All summer reading should be completed by the first day of school, Aug. 21.
Upper school students will watch/listen to several TED Talks and podcasts around the areas of diversity, innovation, leadership, Christianity, and social issues for reading this summer. Students will select five items to review and will take note of their selections. These topics will be discussed when they return to school in the fall. Sample podcasts as well as class specific summer reading and summer assignments are listed in the Summer Reading course in Canvas or you can click here.
