Based on the popular YouTube channel DUDE PERFECT, this camp is all about trick shots. Campers will design, attempt, and film a series of trick shots around Charlotte Christian’s campus. In addition to the fun of designing and performing the trick shots, students will also learn the basics of video editing software using Apple’s iMovie and produce a short video by the end of the week!

Your child will leave this camp with ideas they can use again and again. Students need only bring an apron and their creativity; all other materials are provided.

Film

Amateur directors, actors, writers or simply movie lovers will enjoy diving into the basics of cinema this summer. The camp will begin by exploring the fundamentals of script writing, camera work, and directing. The culminating project will be shooting and editing a film of the student’s own design. Not only will this camp provide an introduction into the basics of filmmaking, but it will also allow students to build teamwork skills as they work with their peers towards a common goal.

The Charlotte Christian girls' basketball camp is an opportunity for JK-8th grade girls to develop their basketball skills in a fun and challenging environment. This camp will feature coaching by Girls' Basketball Program Director/Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach Luke Boythe along with members of the coaching staff and current/former Charlotte Christian basketball players. Coach Boythe and his staff will emphasize skill development including shooting, ball handling, passing, and rebounding. Individual attention, competitions, awards, and games will allow the girls to combine fun with learning. Campers will be grouped by age, and younger girls may use the lowered rims when appropriate. Camp will run from 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Friday, and campers should bring plenty to drink and a snack. The cost includes a special T-shirt available only to the girls who attend this basketball camp.

Flight Adventure Camp

2015-16 Knight Tank winners, Brian and Julian Segovia, with the sponsorship of Mrs. Angelina Ferrari-Segovia will take campers on an adventure through the world of flight. Campers will learn principles of aerodynamics as they build a glider. They will also learn to fly micro drones indoors and outdoors, and play multiple competitive games. To top it off, campers will take a field trip to the Carolinas Aviation Museum that houses the “Miracle on the Hudson” aircraft where they will can sit in the cockpit of a Cessna 150, or F-4 Phantom II. It is important to sign up by the deadline since materials need to be ordered in advance for all participants.

The advanced wrestling camp (grades 6-9) is designed to help fine tune each wrestler's takedown, turning, riding, and lining skills. This specialized camp will focus on teaching takedowns and turns with an emphasis on transitioning the takedown into back points and pins. We will go over primary and secondary attacks from the neutral position. Offensive takedowns like leg attacks, upper body holds, picks, arm passes, trips, and sweeps along with front headlocks, short drags, snaps and spins will be a few skills each wrestler will master.

Camp Invention is a week-long summer enrichment program for rising kindergarten through sixth grade students that is inspired by the brightest thinkers around - the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Children are empowered to have BIG ideas while they take on challenges that inspire them to question, brainstorm, collaborate with teammates, and build amazing invention prototypes. Children will participate in five different modules each day: becoming DIY duct tape experts; building and competing with their own high-tech Bubble Blaster; locating and preparing a new planet for human habitation; creating the ultimate spy gadget alarm box; and taking apart a broken electronic to reuse parts for their own unique invention. The Elite Knights basketball camp is designed to develop each player through the use of Coach Brown’s developmental drills along with constant interaction and feedback from the coaching staff. This session is designed for seniors to preview submitted college essays from top schools around the country, to create, draft, and complete their essay, while also having it edited and reviewed by various writing professionals. This course will require at home work to complete what is not finished during the daily session. We have five days to write a memorable, unique, and impressive essay that is a true reflection of who you are and what you can contribute to where you are headed. This course will be an intense week but come Friday, your college application will be one step closer to COMPLETE!
