Upper School Students Earn Scholastic Writing Awards

Three juniors were awarded four prestigious writing awards in the 2012 Mid-Carolina Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Competition, including a Gold Key for a personal essay/memoir which will advance to national competition in New York.  Congratulations to the following students who earned these outstanding writing honors: 

Morgan McManus – Gold Key for personal essay/memoir and Silver Key for short story
Gigi Bailey – Silver Key for two poems
Michael Keener – Honorable Mention for short story

Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for student achievement in the visual arts and creative writing in the United States.
