On Thursday, May 3, students in each division of Charlotte Christian School will participate in the National Day of Prayer as we both corporately and individually lift our prayers of thanksgiving, blessing, and concerns to the listening ears of God the Creator and Sustainer of all things. We are extremely fortunate to live in a country that collectively pauses to join in prayer to the Almighty Father. On Thursday, our students will participate in this important day in the following ways:
Upper school students will meet for a brief chapel time at 12:20 p.m., and Principal Allen Nielsen and Bible Teacher Ben Doudt will speak to the students on the importance of prayer. Students will be dismissed to spend the rest of chapel time in small group prayer where they will pray for a specific topic (government, military, media, business, education, the church, family and the election).
This year students will report to their advisory to pray in small groups. Advisors will have topics and guidelines for leading their groups and will allow different students to pray for specific things. Additionally, at the beginning of each period, teachers will spend time praying for the same topics the upper school is covering.
Lower school students will meet outside at the athletic stadium for their National Day of Prayer chapel. Grades 2-5 will meet at 8:45 a.m., and grades JK-1 will meet at 9:30 a.m.
