Annual Events
Back-to-School Kick-Off
This event has something for every member of the school community. New families can attend a special reception where students can meet their teachers, visit their classrooms, and drop off school supplies and more. Parents can attend the volunteer fair and gather more information about opportunities to get plugged in at Charlotte Christian. The event culminates in a family tailgate prior to the first home football game of the year.
Knightsfest
A festival-like atmosphere abounds at the annual Knightsfest event held each fall. Geared towards lower school students, this event features carnival games, pony rides, inflatables, a cakewalk and more. The event is usually held prior to a home football game. Food is available for purchase and wristbands for games are sold the week prior to the event.
Homecoming
Homecoming is held each year with a weeklong celebration of school spirit. From upper school class competitions, to middle and upper school themed dress-up days, activities take place daily leading up to the varsity home football game on Friday night. Pep rallies, homecoming dances and powder puff football games are additional activities planned for upper school students. For alumni, class reunions are held and provide an opportunity for many former students to return to campus to visit with their classmates and teachers.
Head of School Forum & State of the School Address
Head of School Barry Giller will share important news, information, and strategic plans with the school community in a public forum twice a year.
Employee Appreciation Day
Employees are honored and appreciated with a dinner hosted by the Employee Appreciation committee. Employees are showered with gifts this day as well as have their birthdays acknowledged throughout the year.
Lower School Grandparents’ Day
Every spring the lower school hosts this annual event inviting grandparents and grandfriends to campus for a breakfast, special program and visit to the classroom. This occasion is always a cherished day for grandparents and students alike.
Tailgate and Donate
Each year Charlotte Christian takes a week in the spring to support a local non-profit organization. Students compete to fill a truck with much-needed items to donate to the organization. The weeklong celebration culminates with a family-fun event centered around a varsity baseball game. The event features games, food and activities designed for all ages.
Field Day
Field Day is a lower school event held each year in the spring close to the end of school. The day is centered on physical activities and games and is held on the stadium field. Parent volunteers assist the physical education coaches in running the event.
Lower School Field Day is Friday, May 24, 2013.
