Theatre

The award-winning theatre program at Charlotte Christian has a rich tradition of excellence on the stage including a North Carolina Theatre Competition (NCTC) state title in 2010 and 2008. Middle and upper school students have also won numerous individual and group honors at theatre competitions including Christians in Theatre Arts (CITA), Shakespeare Recitation Competitions, and the Southeastern Theatre Competition (SETC).

At Charlotte Christian, theatre students develop an extensive knowledge of theatre history, acting, directing, playwriting, improvisation, technical directing, and stage management in a hands-on learning environment that allows them an outlet to glorify God while preparing them to impact the culture for Christ.

Lower School Theatre

Each spring, lower school students mount an amazing musical that includes as many as 100 cast members. Previous shows include Annie Jr., Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Stuart Little, Willy Wonka Kids and many more.

Middle School Theatre

Middle school students have shared their gifts and talents in both plays and musicals including Anne of Green Gables, The Wizard of Oz, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Cinderella, to name a few.

Upper School Theatre

Upper school students will present shows in both the fall and the spring. A sampling of past shows include Into the Woods Jr., The Taming of the Shrew, Beauty and the Beast, As You Like It, Mulan Jr., Little Women, and West Side Story.

ACT Drama Teams

Charlotte Christian ACT 1(upper school), ACT 2 (middle school) and ACT 3 (lower school) drama teams are award-winning audition-only competition drama teams which compose a mixture of theatrical ministry and competitive team as they perform in chapels, local churches and community venues, as well as attend various competitions and festivals throughout the year. Auditions are held each spring for the following year’s team.
