Starting his tenure in June 2010, Mr. Barry Giller ushers in the 60th anniversary year of Charlotte Christian School as the new head of school. Mr. Giller served six years as headmaster at Christian Heritage School, a private K-12 interdenominational Christian college preparatory school, in Trumbull, Conn. He joined Christian Heritage in 2001 as the upper school principal and was promoted to the headmaster position in 2004. A 1994 graduate of Wheaton College, Mr. Giller received his Bachelor of Arts in history and social science and certification for teaching studies. He also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova
Southeastern University.
Mr. Giller is a member of the International Association of Christian School Administrators and has been actively involved in ACSI leadership endeavors as well as with the re-accreditation process through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
In addition to his work as a Christian education administrator, he has a strong background in development, athletics and teaching. Prior to his appointment at Christian Heritage, he also served at Dade Christian School in Miami, Fla. (1997-2001) and Stony Brook School in Stony Brook, N.Y. (1994-97).
Barry and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 16 years and have seven children: Maggie, Jonah, Hope, Emma, Jacob, Jediah and Faith.
